BrainStorm San Francisco Preview ==================================================== I spoke with Gregg Rock, CEO of BrainStorm, about BrainStorm San Francisco, to be held September 15-17 at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame. According to Gregg, the typical executive today has a difficult time finding the time and budget to attend sessions held far away, yet the information they receive is critical to achieve an advantage in the marketplace today. Additional key personnel are facing pressure to keep their departments current, yet it is difficult to take the time to discover the new tools and procedures that they need. Gregg told me that in recognition of this need, he has tailored BrainStorm San Francisco to provide the answers that business are seeking in a structured, two or three-day conference experience that will cover the major issues businesses face today. BrainStorm San Francisco combines four events:
BrainStorm
San Francisco brings together a great lineup - Program Highlights include
Track Chair/Keynotes from leading analyst organizations including:
As well as

The Nearshore and Offshore Outsourcing Conference runs September 15-16. According to Gartner, by 2004 more than 80% of US companies will have seriously explored global sourcing, and 40% will have either completed a pilot project or be actively involved in offshore outsourcing. This is where everyone is going, and you need to consider this option; but you will need a roadmap. This conference will:
In addition, there will be two seminars available at BrainStorm San Francisco: The Business Process Outsourcing Seminar will be held on September 16 and will serve business and IT executives who are seeking an unbiased source of education, insight and expertise to ensure the success of their outsourcing initiatives. The seminar will feature a strategic management perspective presented by the top industry analysts and practitioners from organizations all over the world. Last but not least, the Enterprise Content Management Seminar will be held on September 17. There are two kinds of data within every enterprise: structured and non-structured. The structured data is well known, but the unstructured data includes all the collected PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, corporate archives and audio/video files. The amount of this unstructured content is growing exponentially, and has spawned the creation of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions to help collect, store and share these assets. One main driver to manage this content is the new regulations created by Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPPA. There isn't enough space in this preview to list all the stellar presentations that will be featured at BrainStorm San Francisco. For complete agendas, session descriptions and additional details, please visit www.brainstorm-group.com or call 508-393-3266. Gregg emphasized that BrainStorm San Francisco provides a forum where attendees, industry experts and vendors work together to shape winning solutions and strategies. The extended educational sessions provided by the two conferences and seminars detail the latest advancements, the best-of-breed solutions, and all the current trends in information technology. Today! ================================================= The BrainStorm Group has developed a loyal following by providing the high tech industry with good, reliable, current, and unbiased information about technical issues since 1997. Interest in Business Process Management (BPM) has been growing rapidly in the past two years and has been a major topic at BrainStorm's Business Integration conferences. Gregg Rock recognized the need for a clearing house or forum for information on what is happening in the BPM space. Acting on this need, and the many requests from BPM practitioners and professionals, BrainStorm has developed and will host a new site dedicated to peer to peer exchange in the BPM space. The BPM Institute (BPMInstitute.org) was officially launched June 19, 2003 and I'd like to take the opportunity to re-cap the progress that we've made to date and layout a framework of our initial goals - with "initial" being the operative word. Member Highlights:
Member Priorities
and Interests: For each of these areas of interest - I've suggested a course of action to assist members in gaining as much value as possible: Interest: Best Practices, Case Studies and Lessons Learned\

enterprise information. The Nearshore and Offshore Outsourcing Conference begins September 15 at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame. Outsourcing continues to be one of the most attractive ways companies can reduce costs and increase productivity. Outsourcing initiatives continue to grow every year. There are great advantages to outsourcing and companies are moving in that direction. Rita's presentation will look at the current state of the offshore sourcing market and recent trends, discuss ways to evaluate vendors and countries and consider best practices in offshore engagements. Ian will follow with "Launching a Successful Outsourcing Engagement." In this presentation, he will discuss what it takes to implement a successful outsourcing project. Choosing the right services and applications to outsource and planning the goals and objectives in the beginning make all the difference. This presentation offers insights into the critical planning and preparation activities that lead to a successful project. A case study will follow featuring Hank Zupnick, Chief Information Officer for GE Real Estate. Hank's presentation. "GE on Overseas Outsourcing," will discuss GE's experiences in outsourcing its IT work to an offshore provider.
